Wilderness Trail Run

I ran in a 10k race last weekend, in below freezing weather, on a wilderness trail. I forgot how much I love imperfect nature. Everyone loves the sunsets and golden fields. I love the dirty crumbled leaves, rippled mud, and dead busted tree limbs.

Anne, I love your description! I have a friend who makes winter bouquets of all the dead grasses, leaves, and assorted weeds. They are as beautiful in winter as they were in summer and autumn. There is also nothing quite like the smell of the winter cold sliding into your lungs.

Does your friend have a website with her bouquets? I'd like to see how they came out.

I agree, there is something beautiful about imperfections. Thanks for the stop to smell the roses reminder or should I say pause to embrace the fragrance of raw earth.
